Ways To Give

Once you have decided establishing a charitable gift is right for you and your family, there is a lot of flexibility as to how you develop your gift. However it might look in your plan, remember that giving is purposeful and pleasing to God.

Methods Of Giving

Charitable giving can be broken down into two basic methods, give now or give later. With appropriate planning, each method enables you to give more with what you already have in ways that benefit your family and glorify God. Charitable gifts allow you to minimize or eliminate taxes, while at the same time, provide ongoing financial support to the various ministries of LCC and related organizations. Whichever method you choose depends on a few different factors, but ultimately the choice of leaving a gift is wonderful way of saying thank you to God for your many blessings.

Give Now

Giving an immediate (or lifetime) outright charitable gift provides tax relief now, reduces what may eventually become part of your estate, and enables you to see your gift in action.

Give Later

Giving later allows you to minimize or eliminate taxes to your estate using various gifting options. These include charitable bequests, in-kind donations of mutual funds, stocks, or property, direct designation of life insurance policies, RRSPs, RRIFs, or TFSAs, and of course gifts of cash. Usually this type of gift is made upon your death (second-to-die if married) through your will. Your estate receives the tax benefits and you may be able to create a much more significant gift this way.
